Boudoir photography…..classy not trashy

In the age of flash and technology it’s become increasingly harder to buy a gift for that special someone that will just blow him away. Hmmm……clothes? Boring. Watches? Been done. Fancy dinner? Very nice but only if your man enjoys fine dining. Not all do so that can be risky. Vacations? Fabulous but can be pricey and once they are over all you are left with are the memories and the pictures. Pictures? Now we are onto something. Why not have some boudoir photos taken of yourself and give them to your man? Seriously! Pictures last forever and trust me, no man is going to turn down beautiful pictures of his woman. From the sensual feminine photographic period of Betty Page to the cover styles of Maxim this fact has been proven time and time again. Of course, now the question is….where do I go for something like this. Glamour shots certainly isn’t advertising this service and is it weird to go have sexy shots taken of yourself? No way it’s not weird! As for where you go, I have the answer to that. The best place in South Florida to go for classy Boudoir photos is Allure Multimedia, LLC. Let photographer Joseph Cristina take you to a side of yourself that you never believed existed.

Taking boudoir shots just kind of happened for Joseph. His wife being an accomplished licensed cosmetologist [Fairytale Beauty, LLC – http://fairytalebeauty.com] and himself a professional photographer [Allure Multimedia, LLC – http://alluremm.com] they had worked together on many projects from weddings to magazine covers shots. After seeing the “Trashy” way that some photographers were portraying women while calling it “Boudoir” they felt compelled to transcend this negativity and bring the genre back to it beginnings by empowering women with our work. Boudoir Photography is a style of imagery that has its roots in the early 1900’s and has re-emerged within the last few years stronger than ever. Wives, Brides, Girlfriends and alike who have given their significant other the same old cliché gift can finally offer something unique and truly special from the heart.

Now that you have the facts, you are wondering how all of this happens. First thing to stress is that the client’s comfort is the most important thing to Joseph and his wife, Fabiola. A client has the option of having her shoot at the studio, in her home or at a location she has chosen. She also gets to choose the lingerie, shoes, boas, gloves, etc. that she wants to wear to bring her personality and vision through in the pictures. You name it, they are your pictures. Once she arrives at the location, it is all about comfort and style. First stop is hair and make-up with Fabiola. This is when the transformation from everyday women to glamour starlet begins. You think that sounds overly dramatic but seriously, I’m not kidding on this one. Professional stylized hair and makeup application, wardrobe styling, music and aroma; this is were Fabiola’s artistry peaks as the client’s journey begins. While this is going on, Joseph is already at work getting to know the client, learn her personality a bit, use his artistic eye to explore the hundreds of different angles in search of the most flattering. Once hair and make-up are complete, Fabiloa will hand the client off to Joseph for the photography to being. Shot after shot, he talks her through poses, smiles, angles all while controlling light to emphasize the positives while diminishing the negatives…..and continues to make her more and more comfortable with the experience. Everyone has a “good side” or to be exact a “good angle”, Joseph believes it is his obligation to find it and capture it. Almost everyone is nervous in the beginning of the session but as the shots will show, as the session goes on, the nerves diminish. This would not be possible if it wasn’t for the professionalism and talents of both Joseph and Fabiola. All clients say that one of their most important requirements was a photographer that they could trust and felt comfortable with. You will have that with Joseph for sure.

Once the session is over and the client has gone home, Joseph’s work has only begun. He will go over each and every proof finding the winning poses and begin the discreet retouching process. From evening out skin tones, removing blemishes, getting rid of cellulite, massaging other flaws into non-existence and emphasizing the positives he will do it. Yes, I do believe that we are all beautiful just as we are but seriously, which one of us doesn‘t want something retouched in a picture. Although some retouching is applied on most images it is done tastefully and within reason. Having worked on magazine cover shots, models and actors portfolios over the years Joseph is known to retouch much more discretely then most. His goal is to depict the women in her most flattering light while allowing for her inner beauty to flow out; timelessly etched into the final images. At this point a client can simply purchase enlargements from 8×10 to 30×40 on paper or canvas. Some customers even opt to having him custom create a Leather Flush Mount Album, which, like a wedding album, will house all of these special images and will last a lifetime and beyond.

Are you still not convinced he’s the best at this? Well, in February, 2009 the Today Show felt he was. Yes, you read that right…the Today Show. Laura T. Coffey, from the TODAYShow.com contacted him regarding his style of Boudoir Photography. During their interview, they spoke about how difficult it was to find current boudoir photographic work on the Internet that did not cross the line into simply being pornographic at best. Their wonderful conversation was published February 6th 2009 on the TodayShow’s website. Again…classy not trashy. Joseph is shooting something that will be preserved in time and will not be something that you will be embarrassed by. It will be something that you are very proud of and your man will absolutely love.

So, next time you are looking for a truly unique and personal gift for your man, call Joseph and pamper yourself today with a photo shoot like no other that you have ever experienced. Go on, take a chance. I’ve had a photo session with Joseph and had my hair and make-up done by Fabiola. I’ll leave it up to you to decide what that may have been for or what type of photographs they were. What I will tell you was that it was definitely a great experience and the photographs were all so beautiful that it took me almost 2 weeks to decide which proofs to have printed. Joseph and Fabiloa will create for you a True Boudoir Sensual Photography Experience, Tasteful & Classy as was originally intend. About Joseph Cristina

I'm a full-time Palm Beach based Professional Photographer with over 18 years experience in both Photography and Graphic / Media Production. Formal training was received from FAU and the Art Institute in the late 80's. I've worked within multiple advertising agencies along with having work published internationally. Allure Multimedia, LLC is my photographic and multimedia studio base in the sunny Palm Beach, FL. The studio's capacities are many from professional photography to advertising design and multimedia presentation ie. (Wedding Photography, Corporate Events, Modeling, Mitzvahs, TV and Internet Advertising Spots) to name a few. In this digital age, the number of part-time photographers has increase 100 fold diluting the industry with what are known as "weekend warriors". This has lend itself to a rise of a cottage industry of amateurs posing as professionals, underbidding and misleading only to then produce mediocre, at best, final production work. Clients coming to us for professional photography or media creation are reassured by our professionalism, impeccable service, and final product provided, they have made the right decision in commissioning our studio.
